WINDOWS 8 LOGIN SCREEN REVEALED

WINDOWS 8 TABLET UI DUBBED “IMMERSIVE SHELL” CONFIRMED

Now that Windows 8 has reached Milestone 3, the important thing is to confirm that rumored features actually do exist. Just yesterday, we heard a popular rumor smashed when further investigation took place regarding Windows Live ID Integration. Fortunately, better news has struck today….

Windows 8 has been rumored to have a second UI that is tile-based, much like the Metro UI found in Windows Phone 7. This would be a design geared more towards the use of mobile platforms such as tablets. Further investigation within the registry by WinReview shows strong evidence of such theme files scattered throughout the OS. It is quite clear that the UI is indeed present, however, it is locked away.

WINDOWS LIVE ID INTEGRATION INEXISTENT IN CURRENT WINDOWS 8 BUILDSIt appears that Windows 8 does not have any signs of featuring strong Windows Live ID integration as to-date. Rumors originally stemmed from the image shown above, however, sources close to Geeksmack state otherwise:Some of you may remember Windows 7 already features some sort of Windows Live ID integration, although this is on a very small scale, and only allows sharing of files on certain networks and homegroups. A good example of true integration would be with Chrome OS, where browser favorites and menu options are synced. Furthermore, you log into the OS with your account in Chrome OS.WINDOWS 8 STEP-BY-STEP INSTALLATION SCREENSHOTS LEAK
Following the announcement of Windows 8 being released on Microsoft Connect, our Russian partners over at WinReview have managed to get their hands on the build and have posted step-by-step installation screenshots.
As you can see, the Metro UI look is being displayed even in the install-process. The OS was installed in under 20 minutes. It should be noted that it was impossible to install in VMWare.

Windows 8 Build 7971 was distributed to OEMs via Connect earlier today. Stay tuned for any info regarding possible leaks.
